My brother-in-law has a big drug problem!He use to just smoke pot!Now he snorts pills!He had told me and his brother last night that he had quit smoking pot!But he was so out of his head on pills!I tell him all the time he need to go to rehab and get help!He tells me he would just relapse.No-one in his family does drugs!He hangs with these people that just hand them to him!He don’t work!Don’t want to work!And comes knocking on my door 2 or 3 in the morning wanting to crash on the couch!The sad thing is,he is only 19 years old!Im about to pull my hair out!His WHOLE family is very worried about him!His mom don’t want to put a metal hygiene because she don’t want him to hate more than what he does now!Please if you could help let me know!I am really about to throw my hands up and let him go!Im sick of bitching at him everyday about what pills can do and how bad it is!He just looks at me like im stupid!

Rehab for smokers?

I know this has been asked before, but, I have a friend who has tried to quit smoking for a long time. Her MD told her she is physcially & mentally addicted to nicotine. Nicotine is harder to stop then other drugs he said. Why can’t they put people like this in a rehab if this is just as dangerous as other drugs. Nicotine is a drug. She wants to live & wants to quit but just can’t do it on her own. She needs a rehab just like others who can’t quit a drug. Is this fair to all smokers who want to quit? Shouldn’t there be something for them? I dont’ want my friend to die from smoking. FYI, she has tried every gimmick that came out on the market, patches, pills, everything you can think of, but after a wk. she’s back on cigarettes. She will not stop, but wants help in the worst way. I used to smoke & I quit, but I wasn’t as bad as her. What do you think? Rehab for smokers?
When I say “she will not stop” I meant, she will not stop trying to quit. She is so frustrated.
lAURA; I absolutley like your way of thinking. I agree with the idea of taxes going on rehab instead of increasing tax on smokers. If they did the same on alcohol, watch the people complain then. Alcohol seems more accepted than butts, but then, those in Gov. have to have their “social” drinks now don’t they. Makes me sick, since I never drink. I say, raise the tax on alcohol as much as do on cigs. Just an excuse for lining the pockets of the fat pigs in Gov.

Should I go to the ReStart (Rehab) Program my school recommended me to go to?

They know I have body issues, and The test I took says I abuse drugs, this only came up because I was taken by ambulance hospital for smoking marijuanna before school and went straight to the nurses office, my heart rate and blood pressure were sky high, and I take vicodin once a month, just to get high, and I am depressed, and quite open about it.

Anywho I don’t think I have a serious problem, what do you suggest?
Most rehab’s are for real hardcore drug addicts, and all I do is smoke drink and take a pill here and there to feel good like most teenagers and party.

I feel they blew it out of porportion, but this is what they “reccomend”, shoul dI do it for the “experience” or serious get out of my “bad habits”?

Today, I was talking with my friend not a close friend but just a friend and what they said shocked me! I brought up the topic of smoking cigarettes and that led to smoking pot. She said that pot has no chemicals and it is better for you to smoke now then it was in the past. She said it was a great way to relieve stress and that it was awesome. WHAT! basically it sounds like she’s smoked it. This devastates me. I won’t ever judge her because of it it’s just my Father is in rehab because of drugs and alchol its really hard for me to even think that any of my friends would smoke it. and I’m terrified that because of smoking something bad could happen to her. Is there anything I could say to prove that pot is bad for her? I don’t want to tell her about my dad because its too hard for me.

maybe I am over reacting but I saw the consequences drugs first hand. My family has been torn apart because of them, I don’t want to go into detail because this isn’t about me it’s about her. I’ve never smoked before at all, I don’t drink that much either. we’re 17 btw. Also is it really addictive? people tell me all theese different things like its 10x more toxic then cigaretts and stuff I want the truth.

Drugs? Smoking? And drinking?

I’ve done all three of these already but I’m not an addict. Well my question is should I go to a rehab center even though I’m not an addict and just talk with them? You see the drug I’ve tryed in the past was weed and I know weed isn’t as bad as some other drugs but I still tryed it and I don’t know if I will try it again and I don’t know if I could try a harder drug too. I’ve also been smoking like crazy lately Ima chain smoker. And I’ve been drinking beer. I don’t do the weed anymore and I don’t want to think about that drug anymore but I’m still smoking and drinking. And the reason for that is cause of my depression and also because i have no friends and I have suicidal issues with myself. I did the weed to help with my depression just like with the beer and smoking. So what my question is what should I do about this? I see myself in 20 years as an addict but I don’t want that. What should I do if I feel like I’m going out of control with myself and I try the drug again or drugs?
I don’t Drink or somke every single day. I only smoke or drink when I’m very depressed. I haven’t even gotten drunk yet like I said I’ve just barely started. I do somke alot only when I’m in a depressed state.
